We have to be careful that secular ethics, or compassion can remove unrealistic fear (based on self-centered attitude due to ignorance) but can't remove realistic fear (useful warning).
In other words, we must remind ourselves that secular ethics, or compassion can solve spiritual problems but can't solve materialistic or economic problems which many humans face now.
The present situation is that greedy, arrogant, obsessed people are facing spiritual problems and compassionate and altruistic people are facing materialistic or economic problems.
So, what is the use of secular ethics or compassion? To help greedy, arrogant, obsessed people? Or to help compassionate and altruistic people? (If self-centered people transform their mind to be altruistic) Or both?
